Bubble Bobble 2 History
This second incarnation of the game, was released almost eight years after the first Bubble Bobble. Which was quite unusual considering the success the first game achieved. However, there were games released in between, but these games had very different game play. Bubble Bobble 2 had all of the originals excitement.
The History of Bubble Bobble 2: The Return of the Bubble Dragons
Developed and published by Taito, Bubble Bobble 2 was converted into two separate versions, one for the Nintendo Game Boy and N.E.S respectively. Both were released on June 30th 1993, and were single or two player games of the platform genre.
One change from the original were the name of the bubble dragons. This time the dragons are Bub and Bob's descendants, Cub and Rob.
In the N.E.S version Cub and Bob's friend Judy has been kidnapped by a floating skull, and the dragons must head off on a quest to save her. In the Game Boy version, Rob has to save people, who have also been abducted by the floating skull from a village.
The object of the game is identical to the first, in which Cub or Rob must fight their way through various levels to rescue their friends. The difference in the graphics is vast, with beautifully rendered backgrounds, and silky smooth animation of the games characters. As well as a change in graphics the game also has new enemies and bubble powers for the dragons.
